On Monika LeBlanc's birthday derek and I went to Earl's Restaurant to celebrate with some friends. We later went to the Yates Tap House where I ordered up a bunch of drinks. It was a thursday but we thought it was a friday and it turned out that derek had missed his bus home but mine hadn't do he came over to my house to spend the night. got home, saw all my recording gear set up and got really stoked and insisted that derek started a musical project with me. idk why but at first i was just saying shit like "you're listening to 89.9 THE DUST" in a super low voice and laughing my ass off. then derek showed me some music on my computer and then we were talking about hotels and how he'd stayed at the double tree one time and that they give you a free cookie in the morning. I thought that was dope so I wrote a short couple of lyrics, busted out the jazz chords and recorded "Double Tree Hotel" all night. had lots of help staying awake by McAurthur's blended scotch whiskey. All this time derek was writing lyrics on my computer. He wrote "Crazy Times Ahead" and "I'll Take Em!!". both are deep and thoughtful lyrically, and are by far my favourite tracks on the album.
something got really fucked up and I'm too hasty to release this album so I didn't manage to get the intro, a song called "A Song For The Frustrated Romantic", and the outro on to BandCamp, because the files need to be a certain type and I'm too tired to figure it out.
